Autism and the Swine Flu Vaccine
Parents of children with autism are acutely aware of what vaccines could mean for their sons and daughters. Many are concerned about routine vaccinations, but you should also be aware of the possible dangers of the swine flu, or Influenza A(H1N1) vaccine, in particular. This vaccine has been rushed to market, so to speak, in order to meet the public and government demand for protection from the swine flu. GlaxoSmithKline says that “clinical trials will be limited” due to government demands and that “additional studies will therefore be required and conducted after the vaccine is made available”. Trials are expected to begin on August 17th by testing the vaccine on 12,000 children between the ages of 3 and 8. Then, 60 to 80 million doses are expected to be administered by mid-September. Officials have admittedly “guessed” at the proper dosage to rush the vaccine to market by the time school has started. They will not know of the vaccine’s effectiveness or side effects until the initial wave of testing is complete, but they do expect that two vaccinations will be necessary. They are confident in the process by which the swine flu vaccine has been derived because it is made [...]
New You Tube Introductory Clip of Flu OMT Protocol 2009
The 1918 – 1919 Influenza Pandemic was a horrible learning experience for all. In the United States a cadre of thousands of osteopathic physicians used their medical skills of the time, including manual forms of manipulation of the entire body to stimulate respiration, the clearing of secretions, increased oxygenation, and the stimulation of the immune system to fight off the devastating effects of that strain of influenza. Published reports of the time gave varying tabulations of improvement and , most importantly survival rates that far exceeded survival of patients treated by non-osteopathic physicians, specifically the MD medical doctors of the time. Survival rates of 10 , 20 and 40 times the rate of patients treated by MDs were published.
General Discussion About Bird Flu
It is well known that Asian countries are affected by avian (bird) flu. The highly contagious virus spreads rapidly among the poultry leading to a quick death. More than that, it was noticed that the virus might affect humans too. Specialists are concerned about the spreading of the virus among the people. Their theory says that the bird flu virus could merge with a human flu virus and can lead to highly infectious, rapidly fatal flu virus. For this reason most of the Asian countries are culling the poultry stocks to prevent a further spread of the virus. Avian flu is a health problem that mostly affects the birds. It is used to describe the influenza viruses. Nowadays 15 subtypes of influenza A viruses are known to possibly spread among the bird populations. From all these types of avian flu only a few may lead to a highly contagious and rapidly fatal disease. These dangerous viruses are known as highly pathogenic avian influenza. These viruses are responsible for the worries of the specialists because it is believed that they are the ones that may affect humans. In the moment when it was certitude that avian [...]

An Easy Way to Prepare for Pandemic Flu
Birds have had passed the flu back and forth among them selves for at least as long as humans have been sharing it among themselves. It wasn’t until 1997 that the first person contracted the flu from a bird and died from it. Since then, 328 people have contracted the Bird flu and 219 have died from it. This is a flu humans have not encountered in mass numbers to this point, so when a human does contract the disease and becomes highly contagious, we will have a flu pandemic sweep the globe in a matter of days. Pandemics generally occur three times each century. In the last century we had the Asian flu in 1957 which killed 4 million people in the US. In 968 the Hong Kong flu killed 6 million Americans, and in 1918 the Spanish Flu killed over 40 million people in the US alone. What does this mean to you? Well, health experts around the world speculate that the bird flu very well could be the next pandemic, but even if it’s not, we will have a flu pandemic, and it’s wise to prepare now. What does preparing for a flu pandemic involve? [...]
Are you immune to the swine flu pandemic?
As I mentioned the other day, I have just finished reading a new book that backgrounds this swine flu situation and puts it into context by comparing it to the other pandemics of the last century. You can find the web site for the book here: I know that a lot of people are wondering about the necessity of getting the swine flu shot this fall. The truth is that some people *do* seem to be a lot less susceptible to swine flu. People over 50 years of age appear to fall into this category, and it is thought that the fact that an H1N1 swine flu strain was in circulation prior to 1957 (the year the Asian Flu pandemic dropped swine flu off the map) might have something to do with that. Older people may have antibodies to the older strain of swine flu, and this may be protecting them to some degree. But for the rest of us there is no such protection. Moreover, if you have children, they seem to be at particular risk from the new swine flu strain. The average age of hospitalized swine flu sufferers is somewhere in the mid teens. If you are [...]
